Poole Middle School band under the direction of Ms. Veronica Sutherland. (Drama was his first choice but the Drama Department reached the maximum level of students prior to his regitration attempt). Ms. Sutherland quickly recognized Terrell's talent and helped him learn how to read music and play within a 'band' structure. Her strict instruction helped Terrell earn '1st chair' in the country and district bands in Virginia.\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\r\nTerrell then moved twice within a four-year period during his High School years and continued to participate in School band activities under Trumpeter Mike Yopp and Drummer/Percussionist Darren Johnson respectively. Mr. Johnsons demanding practices and attention to detail helped mold many of the philosophies that Terrell still utilizes on stage and in the studio to this day.\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\r\nUnsure of how one could make a decent living in music, Terrell attended Columbus State University with plans to major in communications. Unfortunately (but fortunately) Columbus was only 90 miles away from Atlanta.
